Turbonick Vista
February

2007

We launched a Vista version of Turbonick for Media Center. As with the previous XP Media Center portions of the platform are public but you'll need to learn MCML in order to render natively on the XBox 360. There a few basic games for kids (flash-like game) but it's primarily a video app. All in all this is pretty cool, once you get the remote in your hand.

We updated the MTV Overdrive Media Center application to look more like the general redesign of MTV.com. A few UI changes were made, browsing show archives has been simplified. If you have a Windows Media Center PC, select "Online Spotlight" from the main menu to find partner applications. We've also provided an installer that creates an application link in the "More Programs" section.

Google Gadgets Prototype

Here's a prototype for the Google Personalized Homepage. The idea is simple but simulates a standard installer. On the right side of the window you can see a installer gadget with check marks to indicate which components are currently installed. Multiple gadgets would interoperate with one another, so a video search result could be played in the video player. There are a few more, Live Television with the EPG guide, video browsing, user playlists and all the other obvious things.

We launched a Windows Media Center version of MTV Overdrive, it's based on the HTML Hosted Application framework (an extension to HTML / Javascript). This version makes use of flash to manage video playlists, UI components and animation. If you have a Windows Media Center PC, select "Online Spotlight" from the main menu to find partner applications. We've also provided an installer that creates an application link in the "More Programs" section.
